Obesity

According to the CDC these are the most recent statistics on obesity:

  1. Nearly 100 million Americans are obese or overweight.

  2. 325,000 deaths per year are attributed to obesity.

  3. Healthcare costs were $147 billion in 2008 and are projected to be over $300 billion more recently.

  4. Obesity costs an individual $1,429 more in medical costs compared to a person in an acceptable weight range.

Obesity is a d condition that can effect an individual both physically and mentally. In most cases the condition leads to shortness of breath, chronic diseases, joint pain, and loss of function. Activities that are taken for granted like getting dress can soon become painful and exhausting.
